LOS ANGELES, CA — MARCH 20, 2025 — On March 20, 2025, rising singer-songwriter Jake Minch delivered a heartfelt and electric performance at the iconic Troubadour in West Hollywood as the opening act for Grace Enger's "It's So Fun" Tour. The show, marking the penultimate stop on the 19-date run, played to a completely sold-out crowd—one of 18 sold-out shows on the tour.
Minch, who has previously opened for acclaimed artists like Lizzy McAlpine and Alix Page, brought an undeniable energy to his set, mixing released favorites and highly anticipated unreleased tracks. His setlist featured "Strip Mall,""Jessie," "Handgun," "Whose You Are," and unreleased hits, including "For Leaving," "Fingers and Clothes," and"Changed Things."
A particularly touching moment of the night came during "Jessie," when fans held up cutouts of monkeys holding hearts with the message "Don't you know that we'll always be here," —a nod to the lyric, "You should know I'll always be here." Minch, known for his quirky monkey doodles, was visibly moved by the unexpected tribute—an especially rare occurrence for an opener, particularly in a venue of this size.
His unreleased track "Fingers and Clothes," which gained traction from a viral TikTok snippet, had fans singing along from start to finish and loudly requesting its official release. The crowd's energy peaked during "Handgun," Minch's most streamed song, and "Whose You Are," with fans passionately belting every lyric.
Later in the evening, Minch returned to the stage during Grace Enger's set to perform their 2024 collaboration "Good Stuff," a staple moment throughout the tour highlighting the pair's musical chemistry and friendship.
After the show, Minch met fans at the merch table, taking time for meaningful conversations and photos, further strengthening the deep bond he's building with his audience.
Jake Minch's performance at the Troubadour solidified his rising status in the indie pop scene. With raw songwriting, viral momentum, and an ever-growing, dedicated fanbase, Minch is carving out a space to make his mark—monkeys and all.
