“The Aftermath” of Carter Faith’s Fast-Coming FameNovember 14, 2024 | Isabella Appell
Country-pop star Carter Faith continues to chase her dreams and succeed. Originally from North Carolina, Faith made a bold move to Nashville to pursue her dream of becoming a musician, and she hasn’t looked back since. Since then, she has been steadily rising in the country-pop scene, amassing over 111 million streams worldwide with hits like “Wild,” “Greener Pasture,” and “Already Crazy.” Growing up in a music-loving family, Faith was surrounded by country music at an early age. With inspiration from lyricists like Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, and Kacey Musgraves, Fath developed her songwriting skills early on, quickly setting herself on the path to success..

At 18, Faith moved to Nashville to study songwriting at Belmont University––a choice that has undeniably paid off. By 2022, she had signed with Universal Music Publishing Group Nashville, a major milestone that propelled her career even further. Sharing the stage with country legends like Little Big Town, Keith Urban, and Willie Nelson, Faith’s become an undeniable force in modern country-pop. This fall, she’s set to join Luke Grimes on his Midlands tour.

Faith’s latest release, The Aftermath, is a four-track EP that beautifully captures a young woman’s journey navigating her early 20s—a time marked by both self-discovery and self-doubt. Featuring four singles released earlier this year, The Aftermath showcases Faith’s introspective style and commitment to authentic storytelling as an artist.

In a recent interview with Cherry Pop’s Isabella Appell at Universal Music Group’s 1824 conference—-a culture marketing and creative strategy division consisting of a network of young creatives dedicated to content creation and fostering artist relationships with fans—Faith opened up about her journey from North Carolina to Nashville, the impact her rising fame, and her evolving relationship with her fans.

__________

Moving from North Carolina to Nashville was a big step in pursuing your dream. Can you tell us more about how that experience shaped your music and what role Nashville has played in your artistic growth?

“The biggest decision I ever made was coming here to follow a dream instead of going to school or doing something more conventional. I think when I got here, I was like, “let’s fucking go. I can do whatever I want.” I’m at a point now with Nashville where I feel like I’m not the new girl every day, and I can be like, “ this is my place, and these are my stories.” I’m centered here now, and that just feels so different. It takes years for me, at least, to get situated. This isn’t summer camp—I’m in this world that I’ve been trying to get into and use now.”

With over 111 million global streams, you’ve connected with listeners worldwide. How has reaching this level of success influenced you both personally and professionally?

“It doesn’t feel like I’ve had that many streams, so I think that’s why touring is so life-changing for me. I see real people who have actually listened to my music—I think [that] more so changes me. What’s really been so exciting is that it's put me in a position where Universal wanted to sign me, and so now I can go make the music I’ve always wanted to make and build these worlds that I’ve had in my head forever for people to see and come in with me. That’s what I’m just grateful for–what’s been set up ‘til now so that I could be the person I am right now and be making the art and the music that I am right now.”

Carter Faith’s journey following her college graduation has been nothing short of inspiring. By recognizing her own value, seeking assistance in music, and transforming her passion into reality, she is living proof that pursuing one’s dreams at a young age can lead to extraordinary outcomes.

If you’ve ever been screwed over in love, or if you’ve ever felt the gut-wrenching pain of mending a broken heart that wasn’t yours to break, then Faith’s new tracks will resonate with you. The Aftermath captures these emotions beautifully, making it the perfect addition to your playlist.

To listen to her new music, her new EP, The Aftermath, is available on all streaming platforms. Fans can catch her live this fall with upcoming tour dates across major cities, including New York, Nashville, Cleveland, and more.
